The Suri
The Suri live in a remote location north of the Omo river in south western Ethiopia. It is a two day drive from Addis Ababa. Their main village is called Kibbish. It is a sleepy little village with very few visitors. Although remote, the Suri are aware why you are there and trade is alive and well. You pay roughly 15 cents per picture. The face painting is primarily for your benefit and some are more of a rush job than others. Still, it is the most friendly and authentic tribal village in the valley.
