We flew Asiana Airline via South Korea to Hanoi. They had great food but when we landed in Hanoi we were told that our luggage did not make the transfer. We ended up spending 4 nights in the same underwear. We had toiletries, ambien and most importantly Imodium in our carry-ons so we were ok there.

I’ll post photos of Hanoi later but let’s skip to the good stuff for now..

After one night in Hanoi we took an overnight train to Sapa in the far north of Vietnam near the Chinese border. The train chugs along at a slow speed but has very comfortable sleeper cars and a dining car.

The return trip from Sapa was Christmas night and we had a very good Christmas dinner on the train. 5 course meal with foi gras (which i don’t like but it’s very posh so I’ll eat it and pretend to like it)
